This is one of my more personal projects. Near the beginning of my graphic design journey, My grandparents reached out for help with a project. I was always told in school not to work for family or friends however, my grandparents have always been supportive of my career. It was only fair that I jumped on this opportunity.

My grandparents reside in a retirement community named Aldersgate. The community is a large supporter of the arts. My grandfather himself, is a brilliant photographer. The community has a designated space in the lobby to display the residents artwork. The only problem is, they needed signage to declare the space, and placards to honor the artists and allow them to tell the story behind their piece.

The design for the way-finding signage at the Alders Gate Retirement Home, residents’ art exhibit, aims to create a seamless and intuitive experience for visitors. The signage incorporates a clean and modern aesthetic with classy typography. The use of contrasting colors and bold graphics ensures maximum visibility, even for individuals with visual impairments. Additionally, the signage is designed to complement the overall ambience of the exhibit, blending harmoniously with the curated artworks. Through thoughtful design, the way-finding signage enhances the overall visitor experience, allowing them to navigate the exhibit with ease and fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the resident's art.

The final piece of the project involved designing art tags for the residents' art exhibit in the Aldersgate retirement home. These art tags serve as both a visual representation and a personal connection for the residents, allowing them to showcase their creativity and individuality. These art tags allow artist to give a brief comment, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the artist behind each piece. With elegant typography and classy colors, these art tags are not only informative but also visually appealing, creating an engaging and immersive experience for all who visit our retirement homes' art exhibit.
